#Teach180 Day 4

Today in Algebra we did Sara VanderWerf’s (https://saravanderwerf.com/2015/12/07/100-numbers-to-get-students-talking/) 100’s task and it was a hit. On the name tents this was the most popular day this week.  Even the most reluctant could get into in and WHAM I threw down some knowledge about  how knowing patterns can help us out. This was an unintended consequence of the activity but it worked great because we have been watching Jo Boaler videos all week.

In AP Calculus today we did the Pre-Calculus circuit (Virge Cornelius) that allowed the calculator. That went over more smoothly than the first one. Partly because they recalled all the skills on the first activity… (they thought it was the calculator). Next week we dive into Limits… help me Lord! I want to be clear enough in my own thinking to be able to teach it effectively.
